Realme Philippines is Winning and Here Are Five Reasons Why

Within just a span of one year, Chinese tech brand Realme managed to become the Philippines' fourth best selling smartphone brand with 9% of the country's total unit sales in Q4 2019.

Based on the findings of global research firm Canalys, Realme Philippines was able to grow its year-on-year device shipment by a whopping 709 percent, making it the best smartphone brand currently in terms of explosive growth.

Those who are interested in the business-side of the smartphone industry might be wondering what exactly is Realme doing right to achieve such big success in such a short span of time.

Well, as a tech blogger who has seen Realme's birth and has followed its continuous growth in our country, allow me to share with you some of the things that I believe greatly contributed to the seemingly unstoppable rise of Realme in this territory.

1. Good Products with Competitive Prices

According to Realme, they were able to build a strong presence in the market through the launch of their six new devices which are all positioned strategically across different price segments, catering to every consumer. This showed their clear understanding of people's need for real value in the gadgets they purchase, even in the budget price category.

2. Strategic Partnership with Other Brands

Apart from their internal efforts, the company also attributes the success of their C-Series, 3-Series, and 5-Series Android smartphone smartphone releases to their tie-ups with other successful companies including Qualcomm, SM Supermalls, Home Credit, Shopee, and Lazada, among others. These brands all helped Realme grow in various aspects of crafting and marketing handsets.

3. Strong Relationship with Content Creators

Realme actively works with many Pinoy technology bloggers (including yours truly), vloggers, influencers, gamers, and even online streamers to help bring their message to as many Filipinos online as possible.

4. Gaming-Centric Proposition

Like many mobile gamers will tell you, I think Realme effectively cemented its stake in the Filipino mobile gaming scene with its strong partnership with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Developer Moonton. Realme has hosted many ML Tournaments and Exhibition Games using their smartphones across the country, which helped solidify their "gaming-centric" branding.

5. Not Resting on Laurels

To quote Realme Philippines' Marketing Director, Ms. Austine Huang: "We are much delighted to share this news to the realme community as this would not be possible without their constant support and loyalty to the brand. We are thankful for the support and patronage we are receiving."

She added, "2020 will be the year that we grow further with more competitive smartphones, AIoT, and 5G inclusion. Expect that we shall leap to greater heights with more Filipinos ready to enjoy the real value and the latest technology."

Realme is slated to release more devices in its growing Artificial Internet of Things (AIoT) product category, including the Realme BudsAir, Realme Wireless Buds, and Realme Powerbank, among many others in the future.

These new gadgets, which will perfectly complement the capabilities of Realme Android smartphones, will surely delight Realme's Pinoy fans in the years to come.

Congratulations, Realme! Much deserved success. Here's to reaching even greater heights in the future. Cheers!
