realme narzo 20 Philippines Price is PHP 7,990, Specs, Lazada 11.11 Launch Promo Details

On Thursday - November 5, 2020, hotshot tech brand realme formally introduced a new budget-friendly Android smartphone in the Philippines through an interactive launch streamed live on the company's official Facebook Page and Youtube Channel.

realme narzo 20 is a Lazada-exclusive release that allows young consumers to feel the power on a handset with a very accessible price point.

realme Philippines recognizes the unstoppable growth of e-commerce in our country and through this model along with futures ones within the same line, they hope to have a stronger foothold in Filipino's online gadget shopping experience.

Donning a suggested retail price of PHP 7,990, realme narzo 20 has four key selling points clearly printed on the device's iconic yellow box. These are the following:

1. High capacity 6,000 mAh Mega Battery

2. 48 MegaPixel AI Triple Rear Camera Module

3. 12nm Octa Core MediaTek Helio G85 Gaming Processor

4. USB Type C Port with 18W Quick Charge Support

The official retail package includes the unit itself, the Quick Guide, Important Information Guide, 18W Travel Charger, USB Type C charging cable, and the metal pin for ejecting the SIM card tray. Sadly, the handset didn't come with a free soft gel case -- but I think it's understandable considering the low SRP of the model.

Design-wise, realme narzo 20 looks a lot like the best-selling realme C15 with its squircle camera module at the back plus rounded sides and corners.

What's special about the realme narzo 20, though, is that it has a unique backplate finish that resembles a "V" when light hits it as you can see in the image above. According to our friends from the company, this is for "Victory" which we all aim for when playing our favorite games, including Mobile Legends Bang Bang.

My review unit comes in the Blue Blade colorway, which I find particularly goodlooking as Blue is my favorite color and this shade looks very classy to me.

SIDE NOTE: If you're wondering, the key difference between the "narzo" line and the C-Series is that the former is "online-only" while the latter can be purchased in realme stores and kiosks nationwide.

Another good feature of the realme narzo 20 is its 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display which is large and brilliant enough to deliver an enjoyable viewing experience when watching TV series and movies, playing games, reading blogs, browsing social media feeds, and viewing vlogs.

If you want a FullHD+ display, though, you can always choose a more pricey model from the company like the popular realme 7i that goes for PHP 11,990.

ANOTHER SIDE NOTE: For those who are asking, the name "narzo" is actually an acronym for Next-Level Camera, A-Class Processor, Remarkable Battery Life, Zenith of Design, and Outstanding Display.

The first batch of realme narzo smartphones, which included realme narzo 10, were launched in other territories in March 2020. The Philippines got the second, more improved version which I think is a good thing.

Another notable highlight of the realme narzo 20 is its Triple Rear Camera set-up that's made up of a 48 MegaPixel f/1.8 main camera with AI features that's the best for everyday point-and-shoot photography as well as low-light performance, an 8 MegaPixel ultra-wide-angle secondary shooter that's ideal for capturing scale as in landscape and architectural photography, and finally, a tertiary 2 MegaPixel macro camera for close-up shots of insects, flowers, and intricate details on larger subjects.

In front, there's an 8 MegaPixel f/2.0 camera that's good for snapping selfies as it is powered by the company's own AI beautification software that instantly evens out skintone for self-portraits that are instantly ready for sharing on Facebook or Instagram.

For vloggers and budding Youtubers, realme narzo 20's main camera at the back can record FullHD 1080p 30 and 60 frames per second while the ultra-wide-angle camera can shoot in FullHD 30fps.

If you prefer using the front cam for recording talking head shots, you can set it to FullHD 30 frames per second as well.

I wish though that realme would eventually make 4K video recording available on even its more affordable smartphones, both for the front and back cameras. Also, I hope they would add support for external microphone audio recording through the 3.5mm combo jack, which is something that many vloggers and mobile videographers will certainly appreciate.

Under the hood, realme narzo 20 runs its realme UI customized Android 10 operating system with a 12nm 2GHz Octa Core MediaTek Helio G85 processor that allows consumers to get good gaming performance on entry-level to lower-midrange smartphones such as this one. Incorporating a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU, this chipset is capable of delivering a smooth visual experience when running popular titles, especially Mobile Legends Bang Bang by Moonton which is a strong partner of realme in the Philippines.

The processor is complemented by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that's easily expandable using the dedicated microSD card slot.

I personally think that this is a good set of internal hardware for an Android smartphone with the above-mentioned price tag.

If you hate always carrying a powerbank in your bag or pocket and if you don't like always charging your handset because of poor battery life, then I'm sure you will love realme narzo 20's ultra-large 6,000 mAh battery!

This high-capacity pack easily ensures a whole day of uptime even for many power users and perhaps even a couple of days straight for those who mostly use their handsets for watching videos or browsing social media accounts.

Another good thing about this pack is that it won't take forever to charge since realme narzo 20 comes with 18W fast charging feature. This means that you can spend less time plugging the phone to an electrical outlet and more time using it to celebrate your passions.

realme narzo 20's battery is so big that you can even use the phone itself a powerbank through reverse charging. The package didn't come with the cable adapter needed for this, but if you have it then you can certainly activate that feature, which can quite useful.

Finally, for those who are concerned about privacy and security, realme narzo 20 has a Fingerprint Scanner at the back plus Facial Recognition integrated in the front-facing camera that both both add a veritable layer of protection against those who want to check the content of your smartphone without asking for permission.
