Announced on June 10, 2026, Luna Ultra marks Insta360's entry into the dedicated gimbal camera category while building upon the company's established expertise in imaging technology and creator-focused innovation.

At the heart of Luna Ultra is a Leica Summicron lens paired with a large 1-inch sensor capable of capturing 8K video and high-resolution still images.

The camera also incorporates a dedicated telephoto system featuring a 1/1.3-inch sensor and an f/2.0 aperture, enabling multiple focal lengths, natural-looking background separation, and zoom capabilities reaching up to 12x, including 6x lossless zoom.

One of its most distinctive features is an industry-first detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen that can function as a remote monitor and controller. The display supports HD transmission up to 20 meters away, opening up new possibilities for solo creators, vloggers, and filmmakers seeking more flexible shooting angles.

The camera is powered by a 1,550mAh battery capable of delivering up to four hours of operation. Fast charging support allows the battery to reach 80 percent capacity in approximately 23 minutes.
