In the previous article, I showed you the more affordable model of the two
new midrange Android smartphones that hotshot tech brand
realme officially announced in the Philippines on March 15, 2022.
Now, let me give you the more pricey and more powerful model.
With an official suggested retail price of PHP 23,990 and a discounted
promo price of PHP 21,490 from March 16 to 18, 2022 via realme's official
online store in Lazada PH, the new realme 9 Pro+ is a
moderately high-end handset from the company that can be a great option for
current midrange smartphone owners who are due for an upgrade to a more
powerful 5G-enabled device.
In terms of design, the realme 9 Pro and realme 9 Pro+ look quite identical
with similar high-gloss finish on their polycarbonate backplates as well as
practically the same rear-camera module plate set-up.
I'd say, however, that realme 9 Pro+ is more luxe than the more affordable
model in terms of display, imaging capabilities, video recording feature,
internal hardware, security features, and charging speed.
Although realme 9 Pro+'s screen is smaller and has slower 90Hz refresh rate
compared to that of realme 9 Pro, I think that the SuperAMOLED panel on the
former is more premium compared to the IPS LCD screen of the latter.
SuperAMOLED is not only more brilliant compared to IPS but it also allows
handsets to be slimmer as it does not require back illumination.
As for imaging capabilities, even if the main rear camera of the Pro+ has
lower resolution when you compare it to realme 9 Pro's 64MP main cam at the
back, the 50MP shooter of Pro+ has a larger 1/1.56" sensor that gives
it better performance, even in low light.
realme 9 Pro Plus also addresses one of the limitations of the non-Plus
model, which is the inability to shoot 4K videos. The main camera at the
back of the Plus model can shoot 4K videos at 30fps that can be very useful
for vloggers and Youtube content creators.
The 4K video recording capability was made possible by realme 9 Pro Plus' 6nm
2.5GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G processor that also incorporates a
Mali-G68 MC4 GPU for good overall performance, which includes gaming. This
chipset is complemented by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage, bigger
than the 128GB of the non-Plus model.
Additionally, whereas realme 9 Pro has a side-mounted fingeprint scanner, the
optical finger sensor on realme 9 Pro Plus is integrated with its SuperAMOLED
display, making it more intuitive.
For me, one of the most attractive features of the realme 9 Pro+ would have to
be the 60W Fast Charging Technology that lets the user charge the handset from
0% to 100% in just 44 minutes! Believe it! With this, you can spend more time
using the smartphone to celebrate your interests and passions -- and less time
