Vivo Y71 Unboxing Photos and Video, Accessories Check

Are you currently on the hunt for a 2018 Android smartphone with a very large display as well as great selfie imaging capabilities but sells for less than PHP 10,000?

Well, here's one that you might want to consider.

Vivo Y71 Unboxing

As I've shared in a previous entry, the budget-friendly Vivo Y71 has a massive 6-inch HD+ IPS display panel and a 5 MegaPixel f/2.2 front cam that's powered by the company's own AI Beauty software that makes sure that your selfies will still look like you even after skin clearing or beautification effect; Two features that are very attractive to most young consumers these days.

On top of that, this release also has a very slim design, a high-resolution 13 MegaPixel f/2.2 rear camera with LED flash, an easy-to-navigate user interface, and long uptime made possible by the large 3,360 mAh Li-Ion battery pack and the energy-efficient Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor.

It's by no means a powerhouse model in terms of internal hardware but for checking social media apps, playing light 3D games, watching online videos, listening to music, and browsing the web, Vivo Y71's innards should be good enough to deliver a smooth and enjoyable mobile experience.

Vivo Y71 is available in two variants. One has 2GB of RAM plus 16GB of ROM and it sells for only PHP 7,990. The other is more powerful - having 3GB RAM and 32GB of ROM - but it goes for only a thousand pesos more, coming in at PHP 8,990.

Both versions ship with the same packaging design and set of accessories.

Join me in my quick unboxing of Vivo Y71 3GB RAM version.

The handset ships in this plain white box, reminiscent of the packaging of the Apple iPhone 8 Plus, with the photo of the model printed on top.

At the bottom of the pack, Vivo listed down four of the main selling points of the device, namely, the 6-inch FullView Display, 3GB of RAM, 13 MegaPixel rear camera, and Face Access or Facial Recognition software.

This the company Vivo Y71 3GB RAM retail package.

Let's go through the items one by one.

The standard earphones don't have in-ear silicone buds, which some users - including me - prefer since it's not as tiring on the ears when worn for an extended period.

The rather big travel charger only supports 1A output.

If you have time, read the warranty information and user guide.

You'll need the included microUSB to USB connector cable for transferring photos and videos taken using the smartphone to a computer and for charging the handset.

Vivo also provided a SIM card tray ejector pin the box.

Vivo Y71 Android Smartphone

And of course, we have the Vivo Y71 Android smartphone itself.

This model runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system that's skinned by Vivo's own interface. FunTouch OS, which doesn't have an app drawer, looks very neat and is actually very easy to use or navigate. Swipe down from the top to see notifications and swipe up from the bottom to access the toggles for WiFi, Bluetooth, and 4G LTE as well as the slider for adjusting brightness.

The Gold Vivo Y71, which I obviously have here, flaunts a slick shell crafted polycarbonate or plastic. Nonetheless, the enclosure has a metallic sheen along with tapered edges, giving the unit an air of corporate sophistication and understated elegance.

Vivo Y71 is now available at all Vivo Concept Stores, kiosks, and authorized retail outlets across the Philippines. It's out in two colors: Black and Gold.
