Cherry Mobile Fuze Price Php 5,499, Specs, Antutu Benchmark Score : Has a Large 4,000 mAh Battery, Quad Core MT6582M Processor, 1 GB of RAM, 5-Inch Display!

Yesterday, a friend from Cebu messaged me on Facebook and told me that he's looking for an affordable Android smartphone with a big battery pack and a quad core processor. I gave him a couple of handset names, which he checked out, but after a few minutes he returned to our conversation mentioning another smartphone altogether -- one I haven't even heard about. "They're saying it's good. Milan, I hope you can check it out," he said.

He was talking about the Dual SIM Dual Standby Cherry Mobile Fuze, which made its first appearance online via the official Facebook page of Cherry Angel, one of the local electronics giant's official distributors in Metro Manila. All of these photos are courtesy of that store.

We've all seen many affordable smartphones from Cherry Mobile that give great value for money. But after checking out the phone's technical specifications, I'd have to say that CM Fuze could very well be the company's most sulit release to date.

Priced at only Php 5,499 and now available nationwide, Cherry Mobile Fuse comes replete with features that should make it quite a great phone for a lot of casual consumers. The handset sports a 5-inch FWGA display underneath scratch-resistant Dragontrail glass, an 8 MegaPixel fixed focus camera at the back, and a 1.3 MegaPixel front cam. In terms of connectivity, it supports WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G HSPA+.

As for the innards, the device runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system sans any custom skin with its Quad Core 1.3 GHz ARM Cortex A7 CPU and 416 MHz Mali-400 MP2 GPU based MediaTek MT6582M chipset, handles multitasking with 1 GB of RAM, and has 4 GB of internal storage that can be beefed up using the phone's microSD card slot that supports up to 32 GB. These internal specs combine to give Cherry Mobile Fuse an Antutu Benchmark Test Score of 16,697, which is already very high for a device in its entry-level price echelon.

Side Note: What makes MediaTek MT6582M different from MT6582 is that the former's Mali-400 MP2 graphics processing unit has a lower clock speed versus that of the latter.

But for me, apart from its powerful processor, what makes Cherry Mobile Fuze very special is its unusually large, removable 4,000 mAh Li-Ion battery pack. Needless to say, this phone should be able to deliver an extremely long uptime or at least far longer than what we usually get from most Android smartphones. But just how long with regular use? We'll have to give the handset a TP Test Run to find out.

With its USB-On-The-Go capability, Cherry Mobile Fuze can even work as a powerbank! Just connect your other smartphone or Android tablet to it using the cable and it will automatically charge the device. You may also use the same cable to instantly transfer files - including photos, videos, and documents - from Fuse to your flash drive.

TP Friends, I don't have to tell you that Cherry Mobile Fuze is not perfect. What phone is, anyway? To keep the price of this handset down, Cherry Mobile gave it a rather low resolution display and a fixed focus main camera. Nonetheless, when you consider everything that it brings to the table and the fact that it only costs Php 5,499, it's definitely hard to nitpick on Cherry Mobile Fuse's shortcomings and limitations. Overall, I think it's another winning product from the company that will most likely do well in the market.
