MyPhone Rio 2, 2nd Generation MyPhone Infinity and More, Arriving Soon? Photos from 5th Media and Blogger Community Event in Laguna

I've just arrived home from the fun two-day community activity of MyPhone for members of the media and technology bloggers, which started yesterday at Rancho Elena in Laguna.

This is actually the second year that the Pinoy handset company has done this for bloggers and the fifth year that they've given this treat to members of the media.

It was a cool out-of-town adventure filled with lots of games (Go Team 3!) ...

... and wandering in cool spots around the 'rancho' where we could relax and - at least for me as a tech blogger - just take time to enjoy life away from the laptop.

"For two days, we're just going to have fun. No business talk muna!" That's what Mr. Richard de Quina, Vice President of MyPhone, casually told us while we were having breakfast last Saturday.

During the community night, after the amazing performances of MyPhone's young talents, Team MP surprised Mr. John Chica, Marketing Head of the company, with a birthday cake. 'Belated Happy Birthday, Sir John!'

Of course, there were lots of raffles and giveaways.

And I won a Sony Home Theater Speaker System! Thanks, MyPhone! (Sidenote: Did you know that Solid Group - the company behind MyPhone - started out as an importer and distributor of Sony entertainment products in the Philippines?)

I usually sleep at around 6 in the morning and wake up at 12 noon. But for MyPhone, I skipped sleeping altogether just to be on the road to Rancho Elena with my tech blogger friends at 7 in the morning.

Our friends from MyPhone has always been very gracious and warm hosts every time they hold an event for bloggers. And whenever I'm with them I feel very much welcome and appreciated and for that, I'm really grateful to their team.

Upcoming MyPhone Handsets

TP Friends, I'm sure you're all wondering if MyPhone took the opportunity to introduce new devices to us during the event.

Well, the truth is, they didn't. However, they did show a video, which gave us a glimpse of four new smartphones from the company that are slated for release just a few weeks from now.

"We intend to release at least eleven smartphones this year. So far, we've already introduced three and that leaves us with eight more to unveil. All of these devices are very elegant and premium-looking," shared Sir Richie during his welcome remarks.

They didn't really mention the names nor the technical specifications of the four (?) upcoming handsets but based on everything I've seen and heard thus far, I believe MyPhone fans should expect to see the follow-up to both MyPhone Agua Rio and MyPhone Agua Infinity, which were two of the best-selling smartphones of the company in 2014. Both the first generation Rio and Infinity were launched around Q2 last year so I think they're already much due for an upgrade.
