To everyone who's been waiting patiently for the super-cute Nokia 500 (with its cool swappable battery covers) to arrive in the Philippines, I bring great news!
Last weekend, I spotted this poster in one Nokia retail store in SM City North EDSA:
It reads, "Now Available! Nokia 500!"
I entered the store and asked the sales guy if I can see an actual unit. He told me, "Sir, sold out na po. Nabili yung last unit dito kani-kanina lang." [Sir, it's sold out. Our last unit was bought just a while ago.] (Oh, and he also told me he reads TechPinas.) It was only around 2:30PM when I entered the shop; This phone must be selling like hotcakes. (Yesterday, a TP Friend messaged me on Facebook saying he's seen the phone in SM San Lazaro -- which really got me wondering even more how the handset looks in the flesh.)
Anyway, the mall price of Symbian Anna powered Nokia 500 with its 5 MegaPixel camera is Php 8,880.
I'm looking forward to receiving a review unit from Nokia Philippines soon so I can give you a full review. I bet this phone will be a hit among students.
