Nokia Connection 2010 Pre-Event Update

I'm in Singapore now for Nokia Connection 2010 happening tomorrow, June 14, 2010, at Conrad Centennial Hotel.

It's my first time to cover this event so trust that I'll do my best to offer a crisp and fresh perspective of what will be happening. I guess that's one of the many perks for being a first-timer; You get to see things from a new and possibly unexplored point of view.

But first, I know you're wondering -- What exactly is Nokia Connection?

Nokia Connection is a global event where media and mobile industry professionals, come together to experience the latest mobile technologies and innovations by Nokia via interactive showcases and engaging product demonstrations. These technologies and innovations aim to help create a better and more connected world.

This year's Nokia Connection entitled Your Life. Connected. will feature new devices and solutions including the regional debut of the Nokia N8 - Create, Connect and Entertain. Via this event, Nokia demonstrates its commitment to deliver new and compelling experiences on its latest range of devices and solutions, allowing people to create, connect and be entertained like never before.

Nokia Connection 2010 will commence tomorrow at around 930AM with opening remarks by Cris Carr, VP Sales, Nokia SEAP. It will be followed by a keynote presentation by Jo Harlow, SVP Smartphones, Nokia Global. At 1030 AM, we'll have Nokia Connection 2010 product showcase, where upcoming Nokia handset releases in the region are expected to be unveiled.

After that, at 11AM to 1230PM, there will be Nokia Connection Show and Tell Sessions -- specifically,

11:00am Product-related by Gary Chan
11:30am Messaging by Antony Wilson/Timothy Hou
12:00nn Ovi Store by Nelson Wee

There will be a short lunch break from 1230PM to 130PM.

Nokia Connection Showcase will then resume with a group interview with Benoit Nalin, General Manager of Nokia Philippines and Kenny Mathers, Head of Forum Nokia and Developer Relations, APAC and a group media interview with Chris Carr, Vice President, Sales, Nokia Southeast Asia Pacific. These interviews will done from 130-325PM while the whole Nokia Connection Showcase will end at 5PM.

Come night time, there will be an Ultimate Night-out Challenge and Media Party for all delegates and participants.
