Sony Ericsson Yari and Aino Out in Q4

Here are 2 SE multimedia phones set for Q4 2009 release:

Sony Ericsson Yari slider features a 2.4-inch display, GPS, and support for the SE's PlayNow service. With its support for gesture-controlled functions, Sony Ericsson bills Yari as a 'gaming device'. Price? A whopping $558 (P26,000++ *CCBT) unlocked. Yes, more expensive than some consumer laptops out in the market today.

Aino, on the other hand, features a 8.1 megapixel cam, a scratch-resistant mineral glass display, Sony Remote Play support, GPS and HSPA. Like Yari, it's also a slider:

No word has been given on its price yet but based on its looks alone, I'm guessing it will be a lot more expensive than Yari.

I'm really rooting for the success of these 2 models -- after a series of losses, it'd be so nice to see Sony Ericsson back on top again.

UPDATE: Sony Ericsson Aino is now out in the Philippines. Read more about Aino HERE.

  1. i've been waiting for this phone for quite some time now. the price tag is too insane, even considering SE's overpriced units.

  2. Yup rcboy,

    Price is too steep.

I sometimes wonder if Sony Ericsson is doing enough research to make the pricing of their products more competitive.

    Thanks for checking out Techpinas.com
