Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo Surfaces! Solves Android Short Battery Life Problem?

If leaked technical specifications of the upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo are to be believed, I'd say that its greatest selling point is not so much that it runs on a 1.4 Ghz Dual-Core Cortex A9 CPU with Mali-400 GPU or that it comes with a 12 MegaPixel autofocus camera --

For me, what makes this dual-core flagship Android handset truly special is that it gets its juice from an incredible 2500 mAh battery, which should translate to a far longer uptime than what most Android users are used to getting from their 1650-mAh-powered phones. While Android is an amazing OS, I think many of you will agree with me when I say that its greatest weakness is that it's a battery hog. I think it's great that Sony Ericsson recognized this platform issue and addressed it accordingly by putting a bigger battery on this phone. Thumbs up for that, SE!

Oh, and other leaked specifications include a massive 4.5-inch qHD screen featuring Bravia Mobile engine and Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

No word yet from SE on this phone's availability and pricing details. But considering that there are already a handful of dual-core Android phones out in the market today, there's a reason to believe that Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo will be released within the year.
