iPed: iPad Clone - Runs on Android, Has 7" Screen and USB Port

Rarely - if it all - does a gadget clone from China show any true sign of commercial promise. This, however, may prove to be an exception --

Forget Wu Xiaolong's overrated P88, here's China's definitive iPad clone, iPed aka APAD:

Donning a 7" resistive touchscreen, iPed runs on Google's Android mobile operating system - Cupcake 1.5, I believe. As for the hardware, rumor has it that the device is powered by a yet-to-be-specified Intel processor -- That detail we've yet to confirm but based on this grab, we know for sure that iPed has a USB port, earphone and microphone jack and what looks like a memory card slot:

Here's a news report on the device -- it's in Japanese, but you don't really need to listen to the audio to get what's happening:

Nice. But the best part is the price: Only $100 or roughly Php 4,700.

It's now out in China; Elsewhere? I don't think so.

Now, how to get one? Hmm.

  1. I want! I think the iPad is overrated and too expensive esp now that Apple outlets here in Manila. independent sellers sell it for at least 37k thats too much!

  2. Interesting. Love the fact that it comes with a USB and a memory card slot. I hope the operating system is stable.

  3. for around 5,000 pesos, not bad..seeing the functionality over the price is way better compared to the ipad..im definitely getting this one when it's available in the local market

  4. I'm a huge Chinaphone fan. I guess that's how call me becasue most of my phones are clone phones from China, LOL. Mind you, all of them are still working, the first one that i bought was 4 years ago! So when Apple launched iPad, i was so sure that China will have their version of it. True enough, they have and they did!
A must buy on my list then... And I agree, iPad is overrated.

  6. My aunt bought iPad from the US and it's sooo annoying. As expected, it doesn't use Flash (blargh) and you have to buy apps for it so you can use it like a regular notebook, not that the document editor it sells is as good as the ones available on notebooks. It definitely isn't as useful as laptops and notebook and comes off as more of a novelty item. And given that iPed will be able to use a whole load of stuff, I'm just saving up to buy this one :P

  11. Tataas talaga price kasi walang distributor nyan dito. Mostly independent distibutors nagbebenta of course meron shipping cost and customs that add up to the final price.
    Anyway try this site:

  14. I've already seen this in three places in Metro Manila: Sa isang electronic Shop sa Cubao (%,000), sa Raon being sold by a chinese-owned shop (4,500) and sa Ever Gotesco Monumento in one of those cell phone stores (4,700). I really want one! I think I'll get one soon!
