N97 vs. N97 Mini - Is Nokia N97 Mini a ChinaPhone? NOPE! Check out Specs, Photo, Demo Video

A lot of TP readers have been asking me if Nokia N97 Mini is nothing but a chinaphone version of N97. Let me tell it straight now: It's NOT. Unless you get a knock-off, Nokia N97 Mini is an authentic Nokia release. It's actually the 'budget' version of the former ~ Smaller but still feature-packed:

Here are the specs of N97 Mini:

CPU: ARM 11 434 MHz processor
User Interface: Symbian OS v9.4, Series 60 rel. 5
Dimensions: 113 x 52.5 x 14.2 mm;
Weight: 138 g;
Display: 3.2″ TFT with up to 16 million colors, nHD 16:9 widescreen (640×360 pixels);
TFT Resistive Touchscreen
5Mpix camera, Carl Zeiss Optics, dual LED flash;
WCDMA 900/1900/2100 (HSDPA), EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz;
Bluetooth, Wi-Fi;
GPS;
8GB internal memory;
microSD card slot;
TV-Out;
3.5 mm headphone jack

And if you're wondering, the biggest differences between N97 and N97 Mini (aside from the obvious) are the following:

1. Mini offers less talk time (570 mins with N97 and only 430 minutes with N97 mini both on GSM)
2. Mini offers less standby time
3. Mini only supports up to 8gb of internal memory (vs. 32 GB with N97)
4. N97 has more operating frequencies
5. Mini does not support video calling and push to talk
