I'll start by showing you photos of five panels of the device:

Looks:

Needless to say, Samsung OmniaPRO B7330 ranks right up there with the BB Bold line in terms of sheer svelte form factor. Slim, sleek and elegant: OMNIA PRO B7330 is the perfect device to hold and bring with you to meetings when you want to give an impression that you are not the type to take personal style for granted when doing business.

Dimensions: 114.9 x 59 x 10.8 mm
Weight: 107 g

Although lacking lavish chrome accents (vs. Nokia E-series or BB Bold), Carbon-Fiber-plastic-encased OmniaPRO B7330 looks and feels expensive in the hand.

Ergonomic Keypad:

Samsung OmniaPRO B7330 features an ergonomic QWERTY keypad that follows the natural curve of the thumb for fast and easy typing. Honestly, it's one of the best full QWERTY keypads on a mobile device that I've ever used -- if mistypes would be the measure of how bad a keypad is.

Overview:

Samsung Omnia PRO B7330 is a powerful business device that sports a professional and elegant form factor reinforced with a wide range of valuable business and consumer features. It supports a message ticker that pops up for instant notification when new messages are received and a threaded SMS Inbox that I'm sure you'll find handy when handling business conversations via text. As for connectivity options, OmniaPRO B7330 supports HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 2.0 Mbps and Wi-Fi connectivity. With Bluetooth 2.1, you can listen to music wirelessly and even connect to other phones, devices or peripherals easily with no strings attached. B7330's memory capacity is expandable up to 32GB, allowing users to bring their movie and music collection on the go.

Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard main menu on OmniaPRO B7330

Truly a business phone, OmniaPRO B7330 runs on Windows Mobile 6.5, giving users the confidence to sync with and get things done on any Windows compatible software. The phone also offers two unique Windows Phone services: My Phone and Windows Marketplace -- That's on top of supporting Microsoft Office and active sync for seamless access to work related Microsoft documents including e-mails. Back to phone services, My Phone is - simply put - a highly secure service for protecting and accessing phone data online while Windows Marketplace allows users to shop online for their favorite games and apps.

Camera:

OmniaPRO B7330 dons a 3.15 Megapixel (2048x1536 pixels) Autofocus Camera that lacks flash; I'm letting these sample photos speak for its quality (click photos to enlarge) --

Video:

Here's a sample video taken using OmniaPRO B7330's camera

I think the video quality just alright considering that B7330 is a business model.

Surfing the Net via Wifi

Lacking a mobile version, TP doesn't load right on IE Mobile;
it loads properly, nonetheless, on Opera Mobile

Windows Mobile connectivity settings are quite easy to work with. No need for expert know-how whatsoever.

Once connected, OmniaPRO B7330's 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 processor and 256 MB of RAM made sure that websites load fast.

Battery Life:

On paper, you should get up to 4 hours talk time, up to 16 days standby time on B7330. I found out, however, that browsing the net on wifi drains the battery fastest -- getting only a little more than 3 hours of browsing time on full charge.

TP Verdict:

If you're a Windows Mobile fan, you shouldn't find too many things to long for on this device; I honestly think it's one of the best full QWERTY-toting candybar phones you get yourself.

And with a price tag of more or less Php 13,500 in authorized Samsung retail outlets across the country, it's a bargain, really.

  1. I think this Samsung QWERTY phone is Samsung's match to my BlackBerry 8520.

  2. Hi Chayie!

Yup, considering the similar price point, that's most likely the case. :)
