Last week, TechPinas exclusively reported that Sun Cellular Blackberry Services are coming soon. Today, we are confirming that Blackberry Internet Service is now officially available.

Sun Cellular is finally offering add-on service plans for BlackBerry smartphones to existing postpaid subscribers as well as new ones. Add-on plans for BlackBerry Internet Service come in both metered and unlimited variants.

The BlackBerry Internet Service plans, together with the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphones, will be initially available at select Sun Shops: Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Metro East, Robinsons Manila, TriNoma, Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Park Square, SM Marilao, SM Megamall, Festival Mall, SM North EDSA, SM Cebu and Ayala Cebu. Availability will also soon be expanded to all Sun Shops.

Sun Cellular and Research In Motion Launch BlackBerry Internet Service in the Philippines

Manila, Philippines – 5 July 2010 – Digitel Mobile Philippines, Inc. and Research In Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today announced that Sun Cellular is now offering BlackBerry® Internet Service together with the BlackBerry® Bold™ 9700 and BlackBerry® Curve™ 8520 smartphones to customers in the Philippines.

By subscribing to Sun Cellular’s postpaid BlackBerry® service plans, customers can enjoy the benefits of staying connected with their friends, family and colleagues using push email as well as instant messaging applications including BlackBerry® Messenger (BBM™) and Yahoo® Messenger.
