If you're a having a dilemma on which of these two to purchase, I suggest you visit a shop and compare them side by side. Turn them on and play with each phone. While specs say a lot about the capabilities of any gadget, the overall experience of using a phone also involves getting a feel of the actual device and appreciating its form factor and design identity -- features that can't be put on a comparative specs-table.

In this case though, HTC Wildfire is a bit more expensive -- for good reason, I think.

  1. I recently got the HTC Wildfire for less than 14k at SM MOA. It does have the better features compared to the Galaxy 5. Its GPS capability is comparable to the Garmin Etrex series. Multimedia functions are very good. Plus, its form factor may put Wildfire in the running for the best designed HTC. =)

  10. bought galaxy 5 last december 2010, love it! it was the best option that i had with the budget i had at that time. my only complaint in Samsung Galaxy 5 is the sucky battery life (I'm a heavy net user) which only lasts less than a day with me. I practically have to charge it every night. The other complaint that I have is that its only limited to Eclair. It cant upgrade to FROYO which I badly need coz you can only store apps on phone memory and not sd card which just limits the galaxy 5 A LOT!

but i know i really shouldnt complain much.. budget was too short.
