Canon 60D EOS : Specs, Price, Photos - Officially Announced
Canon has rolled out Canon EOS 60D -- a mid-range DSLR, which was supposed to merely supersede Canon EOS 50D; However, with the launch EOS 7D, Canon decided to reposition 60D so as it won't a simple upgrade to its predecessor. Instead, we got an HD video capture powerhouse -- boasting 1080p H.264 video with an in-camera movie editing feature and manual audio level control.
60D flaunts a rather small form factor and comes with an articulated screen and plastic body shell. It combines the 18 MegaPixels CMOS sensor and 3" LCD from entry-level Canon EOS 550D aka Rebel T2i with the AF system from the more powerful Canon EOS 50D.

Canon EOS 60D comes with Estimated Retail Price of $ 1,099 for the body only and $ 1,400 with bundled 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens. It should be available in the US market as well as other territories come end of September.
