Blackberry 6 OS Officially Announced! Watch Demo Video!

Today, RIM officially announced BlackBerry 6, a new operating system (OS) for BlackBerry smartphones that supposedly delivers the trusted features that set a Blackberry apart from other phones while offering a crisp and engaging experience that's both easy-to-use and powerful.

BlackBerry 6 dons a redesigned user interface that works nicely with both touchscreen and trackpad and features expanded messaging capabilities that make managing social media and RSS feeds a lot easier. The OS also offers advanced multimedia experience, a new Universal Search tool for added convenience, and a revamped WebKit-based browser that renders webpages quickly for a good browsing experience.

BlackBerry 6 will debut on the new BlackBerry Torch 9800 earlier known as Blackberry Bold 9800 slide smartphone, which will be available in the US come August 12 via AT&T.
